Swedish: (basic massage)  

Utilizing 5 basic massage strokes applied with light depth in a slow, rhythmical pattern working on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.  Working in the direction of the blood flow to improve circulation and range of motion, gently relieve muscle tension, release emotional stress and promote relaxation.

Thermal Stone®

Hot/cold stone massage is a contemporary approach to alternating temperatures (thermotherapy) in massage. Hot and cold stones are integrated into the hands-on work thereby achieving a quicker relaxed state, a more rested, calmer body.  Stones may be placed on or under the body to open various energy centers (Chakras) to bring you to deeper state of relaxation, influencing the healing that comes from within.

Shiatsu (Acupressure)

An Oriental-based system of finger pressure applied to specific energy points (tsubos) on the energy channels (meridians) of the body.  Blocked energy along these meridians can cause physical discomfort. The aim is to release the blocks and re-balance the energy flow to assist the body in self-healing.

(maintenance, pre and post event -- “not just for athletes, for any overused muscle”)

Sports Massage is the understanding of the affect performance sports, dance and exercise have on the individual of any level.  Sports massage care was developed for injury prevention, maintenance and rehabilitation.   It has a positive impact on an athlete's recovery during post game competition, pre/post practices/ events, conditioning and post-op recovery.  It requires more advanced training especially as it relates to movement/exercise.  A variety of techniques are used to improve physical performance and to repair, restore and enhance muscle integrity and function, while increasing endurance, aiding circulation and improving elasticity and flexibility. (Must know if you are preparing for or just completed an event.) Treatment may include: Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, BMT, PNF, Stretching, et al.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage affects the sub-layer of muscles and fascia.   The depth is relative to the condition of the superficial layers of muscle and how they respond.  It is most helpful to release chronic tight musculature; thus reducing pain, injury rehabilitation, and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by conditions such as, arthritis and tendonitis.

Trigger Point (neuromuscular)

Concentrated finger pressure to “trigger points” for the treatment of myofascial pain and dysfunction.  These may be painful irritated areas in muscles that refer pain to other areas of the body.  There are active, latent and inactive points to be assessed.  It is often used to break the cycle of spasm and pain.

Pre & Perinatal Pregnancy

Specific techniques developed for optimum care of mother and baby to encourage relaxation, stress reduction, easier breathing and relief of minor aches and pains.  Prenatal massage will assist in alleviating stress in the weight bearing joints and realign posture and body mechanics.  Relieve lower back pain, increase stamina, decrease edema, reduce stress, and enhance the overall well-being of mother and her baby.  Our table is custom built with a flexible top and we have the complete pregnancy body support cushions (this insures no stress is placed on the mother or the pregnant uterus) to allow for more comfortable positioning. 


Please advise us of any health conditions: including but not limited to dermatological diseases, heart conditions, injuries, pregnancy, allergies, as well as, medications which could affect your treatment when making your appointment.  It is our right to postpone treatment until a note of approval is submitted by your physician.
